Review: Little Green Pouch

Being out and about with three little kids always poses a problem when it comes to snacks. Sure, we can just buy a snack anywhere and we do sometimes. However, it’s very hard to find a nutritional and organic snack that’s suitable for vegetarian kids with dairy intolerance.LittleGreenPouchMain

This is why I was super excited to find Little Green Pouches online. It’s a perfectly sized, reusable food pouch that’s squeezable. You simply fill it up with your favorite pureed food and then baby (or kids, in my case) can suck out all the yummy stuff. The pouch zips up very easily but is very safe, so no spills happen when little hands use it. Afterward, they are very easy to clean and can even be washed in the dishwasher.

The little green pouch is BPA and phthalate free, and easy to fill and seal. You can fill the pouches and freeze them to have very handy snacks ready to go. They defrost very fast in warm water. The pouch holds up to 6 ounces, and there is a line on the back so you don’t have the measure. You can fill the pouch by spoon, funnel or pitcher.

I used to buy squeezable snacks before but hated both the price and all the garbage. Now I’m totally in love with my little green pouch!

Here are some of my favorite recipes for the little green pouch:

Sweet Veggie Puree

This is a perfect puree to get  a picky eater to eat vegetables:

· 1 large sweet potato

· 5 apples

· ½ cup blueberries

· ½ cup chopped kale

Peel and dice sweet potato and steam until soft. When potato is done, place kale on top and let it wilt for one minute. Blend potato/kale with peeled and diced apples and blueberries until completely smooth. If it seems dry, add a little water.

Popeye’s Sweet Spinach Smoothie

· 12 dried apricots, soaked in water for an hour

· 1 large ripe banana

· 1 small handful baby spinach

Blend together until smooth and creamy.
