Restaurant Review Casa de Luz

Thursdays are our date night so after James gets home for work we usually go to a yoga class or work out. Last Thursday we did an 8-mil bike ride around Mission Bay so afterward we were super hungry and had decided to try a brand new restaurant called Casa de Luz in North Park. Casa de Luz in completely plant based, vegan and gluten free. After we ate our meals we also realized it’s macrobiotic. The atmosphere is amazing when you step inside with large tables, an open kitchen and candles on the tables.  The staff is so welcoming and very helpful. They feature one soup and one miso; one salad bar and one entree of the day. They also offer organic beer and wine as well as smoothies, tea and coffee.

For the night we were there the entrée was Indian themed with whole grain rice, cauliflower with a mango and pine apple chutney, kidney beans, steamed asparagus and sautéed kale. The food was absolutely amazing and I enjoyed every bite of it. They have a large selection of dessert so we gave a few of them a try; blackberry cheesecake, berry tart, two kinds of truffles, and a raw mint ice cream sandwich. They all were amazing and it was hard to believe they all were dairy and gluten free.
We’ll for sure visit Casa de Luz soon again and next time I can’t wait to try their breakfast.
