By Amanda Wilkes

We are! Last week a random cow was positively tested for Mad Cow Disease. Officials claim that the disease is very rare and that it only effected this one cow, however, I find that very hard to believe. This is the disease that plagued England in the early 1990’s  and although there has not been an identified case since 2006 this may be the first of many. Of 40,000 cows tested each year for this disease one was found, which may sound small but in fact is quite a large number when you consider the millions and millions of cows there are that are not being tested who are undoubtedly infecting humans. All I know is that I do not want and do not know anyone who would want to drink the milk or eat the meat from a cow that has a fatal brain disease.
