Inspiration — What Would I Be Without It?

By Fredrica Syren:

Some weeks I end up in a rut with writer’s block and have no idea what to write about. So I go surfing. No, not in the ocean – on the internet or in a book. This is where I find my inspiration many times and, honestly, inspirations from many other earth mamas are what sometimes make my day. I really love reading what all my wonderful friends (and even people I don’t know) are up to. I never know when one of their adventures or daily lives will give me that inspiration for another article.

I’m so blessed not only to have wonderful, inspiring friends who live their dreams but also am fortune that some of the most

amazing women contribute here on green-mom.com. I really enjoy reading their articles each week, and consider in their point of view and opinions.

For example, today I was reading work by a woman named Lisa DeNardo, the author of the blog hullabaloo.com. She writes about her family and their quest to live a sustainable life. It’s not always easy and she sure has had her ups and downs, but I love how she shares with her followers in an honest and heartfelt way. She is very inspiring to me: she home schools her five children, and I love how she teaches them through experience. It has inspired my husband and me to teach our kids more through experience.

I’m in awe over how many inspiring people there are in this world. Some are living and some have passed on. I will continue to let my inspiration flow and be open for anyone to inspire me.

Tell me, who or what inspires you?

Her mom’s passion for the outdoors and gardening planted the seed for her own love of nature and healthy eating. Years of food blogging developed into the cookbook Yummy in My Tummy, Healthy Cooking for the Whole Family. Upon the arrival of her second child, Fredrica founded Green-Mom.com. Her vision was to establish a site providing insight about gardening, home and personal care, baby & child, and of course food & nutrition. She is an advocate for organic, local and sustainable businesses. Fredrica hopes to inspire social change through her lifestyle, passion and business.
