Happy Birthday, Baby Brother

By Fredrica Syren:

Today is our baby brother’s first birthday, and all I can say is that time seems to go faster with each child. He is as much like his brother Liamand sister as he is different from them. Liam is a happy baby who loves to mimic and, therefore, gets frustrated when he can’t do everything he wants to do. He’s very sociable and loves to be around people, especially his big brother and sister who just adore him. I’ve heard people say that the third baby is everyone’s baby, and that is so true. In fact, Noah still refers to him as “Noah’s baby.”

I remember anxiously waiting for Liam’s arrival and can’t believe it’s been a year already. You would think that, with a third baby, I’d have been calmer; but after being on bed rest since week 31 due to suspected placenta separation, we just wanted him to be safe and healthy. And he was — a big boy who came into this world on a rainy Wednesday, completely oblivious to the drama he had put us through. Even with a challenging start because of colic, Liam seemed just to fit right in, as though he had always been there.

Liam brightens my day, and I feel so blessed to have three beautiful children. Today we’re celebrating the beautiful loving soul he is.

Happy Birthday, Liam. You are so loved!

Mom, Dad, Bella and Noah!
