On www.grist.org I came across a list of five food items you can make yourself and never have to buy again. I was intrigued. I love the idea because it will save money, health and of course the environment when you eliminate all the packaging and wrappings. Check out the list with easy recipes and tips for making your own. I can happily tell you I already make our own soup, beans and hummus, and even some granola; however, my six-year-old is stubborn and will eat only oatmeal or cereal for breakfast. I have in the past made my own stock from vegetable scraps and this website inspired me to do it again. Below is the list of the five items including a link to my recipes.
