What do you say about wearing a sport shoe that also helps clean up the planet? I don’t know about you, but that is a win-win to me. Adidas, in partnership with Parley for the Oceans, has joined other creative businesses in turning recycled materials into a desirable product. One year since its launch, they are doing well.
Adidas’s UltraBoost shoesare made from nearly 95% plastic waste materials, the equivalent of 11 plastic bottles and significant amounts of plastic from abandoned ocean waste. So far, the German sportswearcompany has sold 1 million shoes upcycled from ocean plastic.
It’s great to see that innovation has been born from the disaster of plastic pollution, and that upcycled waste has been turned into something consumers desire.
