By Fredrica Syren a.k.a green mom:
Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.”
Autumn is upon us, and treats us with crisp air and foliage that is taking on beautiful colors of gold and amber. It’s my favorite season, for sure, even if I’m not always ready for summer to be over. I love being outside in fall and feeling the sun on my face in combination with the cold air. Everywhere I look there is beauty, and each leaf looks so different with changes of colors and patterns. I even like watching the garden flowers and plants slowly dying, their swan song of the season’s gardening.
My kids find fall as amusing as I do. Who can resist jumping into piles of leaves or throwing them in the air? We choose leaves to use for arts and crafts, and we walk through the forest looking for mushrooms.
It’s this season when I feel colder, more tired and slower. I can tell that the kids are affected as well. They tend to sleep a bit more, and warm foods like soups and stews sound good.
Autumn is the time for the whole family to cuddle together under a blanket, read books, and remind ourselves that summer soon will come again.
